Meet A Community Member – Brandie from Home Cooking Memories
Brandie is a wife and mom to 4 who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her blog, Home Cooking Memories, is primarily about the new food memories her family is making, but also about preserving the old ones. She does this through sharing their family favorite recipes, restaurant experiences, food-themed crafts, and their day-to-day life in Las Vegas.
In addition to Home Cooking Memories and her love of food, she works in the scrapbooking industry, where she writes Photoshop tutorials and sells her digital designs, which include recipe cards, recipe scrapbook layouts, and more.
What has been your favorite campaign with Social Fabric?
I have so many favorite campaigns at Social Fabric, but I would say my favorite was the Kmart Holiday Shop…which surprisingly, doesn’t involve food. We were able to spend $100 (I think? maybe it was more) on Christmas decor and I bought items to decorate our dining room, which previous had none. My family and I had so much fun shopping and I was really pleased with variety of Christmas decorations that Kmart was selling and their prices.
What do you enjoy most about the Social Fabric Community?
The thing I enjoy most about the Social Fabric Community is being able to do stuff I already love (cooking, shopping, blogging!) and earn money doing it. The shops have challenged me, had me thinking outside the box, and been a great way for me to step out of my comfort zone.
Please share a link from a campaign you have participated in so we can all go check it out!

Any fun or interesting facts about yourself or your blog that you would like to share with the world?
A fun story about Home Cooking Memories is about the time a famous celebrity tweeted about it.
After a completing a shop for Collective Bias, the CEO of the company that I wrote about sent me an email thanking me and telling me that his girlfriend would tweet about my post. I had no idea who his girlfriend was, but I am always appreciative when my blog is shared, so I said thank you to him and didn’t expect much more. I did notice that my post has a huge spike in traffic and I thought it was odd, but figured that people really like that product?
Fast forward a few months and one day I see on the Facebook page of the company that the CEO’s girlfriend is Sofia Vergara from the hit TV show, Modern Family (she plays Gloria). My mind started racing…was this the girlfriend who would tweet about my blog? Did she tweet about my blog? With the help of my daughter, we went back several months of Sofia Vergara’s tweets and sure enough…there was the tweet. SOFIA VERGARA TWEETED ABOUT MY BLOG! Talk about crazy! Never would I imagine that one of my Collective Bias shops would end up with my blog getting tweeted by a celebrity! I wrote up the whole experience on my blog too: http://homecookingmemories.com/sofia-vergara-tweeted-about-my-blog/
If you were sent to a deserted island with one other person, who would it be and what 3 things would you bring with you?
If I was to be deserted on an island with one other person it would definitely be my husband. If I was only able to bring 3 things with me, I would bring my camera, my iPhone, and my red KitchenAid stand mixer. Not that these things would be practical on a deserted island, but let’s just hope this doesn’t end up happening.
