Meet a Community Member ~ Gina Ruiz
Gina Ruiz is a just turned 50 woman who lives in L.A. and spends a lot of time with two of her grandchildren. She is a writer, foodie, book fiend and science geek. She has several blogs actually, but her main blog is Doña Lupe’s Kitchen, which she started a few years ago in honor of her grandmother. Being a grandmother herself, Gina decided to collect family stories, recipes, memories, etc, so that her grandchildren would have it as a kind of legacy. The grandkids often help and love contributing to both DLK and her book blog, AmoXcalli.
What has been your favorite campaign with Social Fabric?
I LOVED the Elmer’s Glue one because I got to teach the grandkids about chemistry in baking. It pleased both my inner geek as well as the foodie. You can’t beat that! I also loved discovering Walmart (never been there before) and was amazed at the prices.
What do you enjoy most about the Social Fabric Community?
I love that there’s no DRAMA. I belong to many groups in social media, and there’s always drama of some sort, so it’s very refreshing to not run into it here. I love Social Fabric because it’s so professional and orderly.
Please share a link from a campaign you have participated in so we can all go check it out!

Any fun or interesting facts about yourself or your blog that you would like to share with the world?
Believe it or not, I have 14 1/2 grandkids! Yep! At 50! I have four children, and those children went a little nuts. One more is on the way, and I think, *fingers crossed, that that will be it.
I love hiking in the arroyo and always have a camera. I go to book conventions for my vacations, I play video games, *seriously addicted to WoW, and go to Comic-con every year.
If you were sent to a deserted island with one other person, who would it be and what 3 things would you bring with you?
I’d be stranded with Marco Pierre White because he’s cute, he cooks, and he looks like the kind of guy that could handle cooking under extreme desert island conditions.
My library of books.
A generator.
My laptop.
