Meet a Community Member ~ Maureen Fitzgerald
Maureen, or @Wisconsin_Mommy, is a former teacher, a part-time Instructional Coach (that just means I coach new teachers), a coffee addict (and she’s not seeking help – yet), and is also a full time mom to her baby, who is now 7 and hates being called her baby. Oh, and Maureen blogs a little too.
What has been your favorite campaign with Social Fabric?
I loved doing Bag It Forward last year. We had a tornado go through a few months before, and it took out part of the local elementary school and a lot of homes in the area, housing kids that went to that school. I worked with a local group and helped them build over 50 backpacks full of supplies for those kids. Totally rewarding!
What do you enjoy most about the Social Fabric Community?
In two words: positive attitudes! I love the feeling of family and the fact that, no matter where I go, there seems to always be at least one SFC member there!
Please share a link from a campaign you have participated in so we can all go check it out!

Any fun or interesting facts about yourself or your blog that you would like to share with the world?
Last month I was approached by my first “fan”, or so I thought. This lady came up to me at the mall and went on and on about how she loved my “stuff” and had been following me for years. After a couple of minutes of me feeling REALLY good about myself, my blog, and my few media appearances, it became really evident that she had me mixed up with someone else. I never really did figure out who it was, but I’m on the lookout for my Milwaukee-area doppelganger!
If you were sent to a deserted island with one other person, who would it be and what 3 things would you bring with you?
Okay, I seriously can’t just choose one person! I would have to have my family with me. I would bring my laptop so I could listen to music, watch movies and Skype with my friends not on the island. I would also bring my bed because I have a hard time sleeping anywhere else. The last thing I would bring is my house – I would need the A/C on that island!!
